About

Now living in the Reno/Tahoe area, I have a backyard most nature photographers could only dream of.  Living closer to nature, I have developed a greater appreciation for conservation efforts.  I take great pleasure in exploring the diversity of landscapes this country has to offer.   Photography has given me the opportunity to travel, explore, and experience the world around me.

Freddy & Beau

Born in the United States of America and raised in Venezuela, I grew up surrounded by nature.  I would spend most of my free time exploring and playing outside, gaining much appreciation for the environment.  I’ve always been inclined to express myself through art, and have had an interest in technology.  Photography, being the medium that marries the two, became the art expression of choice.

As a teenager I became curious about other cultures and environments, which led me to join a foreign exchange student program.  This allowed me to spend a year in Belgium.  There I learned the culture, the language, gained appreciation for raspberry beer, and got started with inline skating.

After a quick stint back in Venezuela I decided to move to NYC with the support of my family, two thousand dollars, and a backpack.  I embarked on this quest to become a professional skater; armed only with my inline skates, a big dream, and hope.   After being in New York for a bit, I purchased my first SLR camera to capture action shots of skaters, and completely fell in love with the medium.

As kid my family and I visited Disney World.  Skaters wowed me during a Magic Kingdom parade, which instantly made me believe I could do that some day.  Fast-forward to 1999, skating opened the door to Walt Disney World, where I became a cast member performing as a stunt skater.  Entertaining and inspiring the next generation of kids like me.  During this time, I used my free time to learn all I could about photography, digital imaging,  and the technological tools available to support it.

Following my stunt career at Disney, I moved away from performing arts to delve deeper into visual arts.  This is when I transitioned full-time into a 3D graphics artist.  3D art brought me out west to Los Angeles where the concentration of most movie and commercial studios are located.  In order to become the best 3D artist I could be, a keen understanding of light and photography was key.
